Donna Wissinger made her New York recital debut at Carnegie Recital Hall in 1984 and subsequently played recitals in New York under the auspices of Artists International, whose Distinguished Artist Award she won in 1986 and 1988. Miss Wissinger was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Mozarteum in Salzburg; among her teachers are Julius Baker and Jean-Pierre Rampal. Ms. Wissinger's international appearances include recitals in Graz, Munich, Salzburg, Paris, Moscow, Tbilisi, Kiev, St. Petersburg, and Cairo. This versatile artist has toured the Mid-West and East Coast in recital and appeared as artist-in-residence at colleges and conferences throughout the US. Miss Wissinger is a principal of Associated Solo Artists and a leading artist in that organization's educational (The Learning Arts) and corporate (Creative Leaps International) programs as well as in the chamber ensemble Icaras Works. She is on the roster of the Southern Artists Registry and the Florida State Touring Program. Miss Wissinger was the first individual artist to receive a grant from the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay. The documentary of her work in the community entitled, The Magic Flute: An Ensemble of Community Partners Enriching Lives Through the Arts, is serving as a model program for artists and communities nationwide. A firm believer in life-long and interdisciplinary learning, Donna Wissinger is a USPTA teaching professional, a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, a marathon runner, and published poet and author. She was featured on National Geographic's Discovery program Bicycle for her Bicycle/Flute tour TOP FORM. Ms. Wissinger has consulted for GE, the US Government, Pfizer, and The Center for Excellence. She was a keynote speaker at the 2002 Excellence in Government Conference in Washington, DC, and the International Art and Business Conference Idriart in Slovenia. Miss Wissinger is co-author of the ACE/FAAE Florida Model Program Tool Kit for artists and educators. Donna Wissinger is the inaugural recipient of the Doris Leeper Artist as Educator Award for her exemplary work in the field of Arts Education.
